Community Involvement

Crown Distributors cares for the communities we serve.

Crown Distributors is deeply committed to giving back to our community. We support nonprofit organizations that that promote education, youth development, and community outreach programs. Through our contributions, we have positively impacted the lives of those around us.

Our company is more than a beer distributor. We are an engaged community member.

For the past 25 years, Crown Distributors and Coors have supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a non-profit, one-of-a-kind pediatric treatment and research facility. Each year, we host a series of events and auctions to raise money for the hospital as well as work with retailers to offer point-of-sale giving opportunities. We strive to contribute more than six cents per case sold to the communities in which our warehouses and offices are located.

Organizations We Support and the Difference They Make

Our support of these organizations goes beyond monetary donations. We also encourage our employees to volunteer their time and efforts to these organizations, further reinforcing our commitment to the community. This is something that we are extremely proud of, and we believe it is a testament to the values that we hold dear.

The organizations we support and the support they, in turn, give to the community include:

Ahearn Fund

  • Provides financial assistance to over 1,000 KU students annually.
  • Awarded over $6 million in scholarships and grants in 2023.
  • 85% of student recipients report an increased ability to focus on studies due to financial aid.

 

American Society

  • Advocated for policies that benefit over 3 million American citizens in Kansas.
  • Organized voter registration drives, resulting in a 15% increase in voter turnout in key elections.
  • Educated the public on important issues through workshops and forums, reaching over 20,000 people.

 

Chloe Foundation

  • Provided financial assistance to over 500 families of children with cancer in Kansas.
  • Funded over $1 million in cancer research grants to Kansas institutions.
  • Organized support groups and counseling services for families, benefiting over 1,000 individuals.

 

Greater Topeka Partnership

  • Attracted over $100 million in new business investments to Topeka in 2023.

KS Big Brothers Big Sisters Topeka Chapter

  • Children matched with mentors: 100+ children annually.
  • Academic improvement: 75% of mentored children show increased academic performance.
  • Behavioral issues reduced: 60% of mentored children exhibit fewer behavioral problems.
  • Mentoring services provided: Over 200 youth benefit from mentoring programs annually.
  • Volunteer opportunities organized: 150+ community members engaged through volunteering.
  • Volunteer hours contributed: 5,000+ hours annually.

 

Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce

  • Businesses served: 700+ businesses in Manhattan and Riley County
    Jobs created: 1,000+ jobs due to economic development initiatives.
    Wages increased: 5% average increase in employee wages through policy advocacy.

 

Red Bull Wings of Life

  • Raised over $500,000 for spinal cord research in Kansas through the Wings for Life World Run.
  • Number of spinal cord injury research projects funded in Kansas: 3+ projects.
  • Total amount of funding provided to Kansas research projects: Over $1 million

 

Salina Area Chamber of Commerce

  • Serves over 600 businesses in Salina and Saline County.
  • Promoted economic development, resulting in a 3% increase in local gross domestic product (GDP).
  • Supported tourism through marketing initiatives, attracting over 100,000 visitors annually.

 

Salina Charities League

  • Raised over $1 million for local charities in Salina through fundraising events.
  • Supported over 20 local charities addressing various needs, including hunger, homelessness, and healthcare.

 

St. Jude

  • Number of children treated in Kansas: 100+ children annually.
    Percentage increase in survival rate for specific childhood cancers in Kansas: 10-15%.
  • Financial assistance provided to Kansas families: Over $1 million annually.
  • Number of Kansas families supported with travel, housing, and food: 50+ families annually.

 

United Way

  • Raised over $5 million in Kansas through fundraising campaigns.

We believe we should celebrate organizations that help make our community a great place to live and work. Employees who have been with Crown Distributors for three or more years have the opportunity to select a local nonprofit organization to which our company will donate to on the employee’s behalf.
